Rev. Selena Grant Justice
Minister of Worship & Arts, LWF
Over the Years, there has been a trend
develop in church worship.  For the
longest time, it was all about hymnals,
choirs, etc... then along came
"contemporary" or "spirit filled" worship
with drums, guitars, keyboards and all the
new sounds that came with them.  At first
it was simple but new.  Then, as the skill
level increased, so did the complexity of
the music.  No problem, after all the Bible
says to "play skillfully". (Ps. 33:3)  But as
the complexity of the music increased,
many churches lost something along the
way.  Something important...the
congregation. David was a man who loved
to worship.  He was also a skilled musician.
He declared: Ps 22:25
25 My praise shall be of thee in the great
congregation: KJV
God wants both.  God wants the
excellence of skilled musicians and worship
leaders on the platform; He wants the
congregation involved too.  It's one of the
most powerful experiences one can have
in a church setting.  we are excited to see
this kind of participation at Living Word
Fellowship.  We hope to see many join in!
